It is difficult to feel a genuine connection with others if we are unable to both give and receive warmth in our relationships, in all its forms.

There are many reasons why it can be difficult to share warmth, or to receive it. These are some tools to help you work with your relationship to expressing and receiving warmth.


WARMTH EXERCISES

EXERCISE 1

This exercise walks you through how to offer someone empathy instead of trying to solve their problem or give them advice.

EXERCISE 2

Telling someone something positive about themselves is a great way to build warmth and connection, and this exercise helps you look at what can be challenging about that to help get you going.

EXERCISE 3

Resentment is something that can get in the way of expressing warmth towards others. This exercise helps you work with your resentments to help open you up for the possibility of more connection.
